Akuma - The other realm awaits

So I feel Ive got Ryu's basics down and now i'm wondering should I try learn Akuma. 

The things putting me off are the fact he has the 2nd lowest health in the game and the lowest stun (I think). 

What do you think, should I stick with Ryu or give Akuma a shot?

id say give akuma a shot, atleast to learn his combos and where he struggles as a plus to when you have to face off against him.

I think it will be easier to punish mistakes with akuma than ryu, so maybe try playing him defensively until they make a mistake

i havent played as either characters, not big fans of them cus they seem so over used. but i do wanna learn them so i know their weaknesses

My advice for using Akuma is learn his BnB combos and learn match ups. Akuma has the secound lowest health and stun in the game. If you have any questions feel free to ask me since he is the only character is use.

whats your go to punish for stuff like a whiffed DP?

Depends. If I am playing in lag I will just do a close fierce into fierce Dp. In no lag I will do standing RH, jab into light tatsu, jab DP.

Also if you are going to use Akuma, learn how to do his ultra and super without the jabs showing.

Ultra 1 is hard to land, I've managed it by crossing them up in the corner and punished a whiffed dp with it.

Well his super is zero frame trap up close, his ultra can go through fireballs up close.
